PROFESSIONAL PROFILE:

            Dan joined Chilton Yambert & Porter in 2001.  His practice focuses on Workers' Compensation where he has been involved with virtually every type of issue relating to the Illinois statute.  He has represented countless clients at the various Illinois Workers' Compensation venues around the state, having tried hundreds of cases and receiving many "no liability" awards. In addition, Dan has successfully represented employers before the Commission review panels, and the circuit and appellate courts on appeals. Dan has also been involved with lecturing to claims professionals concerning such topics as "The Basics: What Every Claims Representative Needs to Know About Illinois Workers' Compensation", subrogation techniques and workers' compensation, the Petrillo doctrine as it relates to workers' compensation cases, the art of negotiating workers' compensation cases, and the 2005 Amended Workers' Compensation Act.  Dan's practice has permitted him to carve out an expertise representing maritime defendants in actions brought under the Jones Act.  Dan's experience includes common law defense and he has tried several cases to jury verdict.  In his spare time Dan coaches girls' basketball at the St. Barnabas Grammar School in Chicago, IL.
